Wolves are preparing for the 2026/27 season, and an intriguing claim about Pedro Lima has been made today.
Things have calmed down at Molineux now after an eventful week last week that saw two new players arrive on free transfers, and Rob Edwards lose his job.
Should any of these NOT be on this list? And are there any who aren’t there who SHOULD be on? 🤔
The Athletic have claimed Wolves would like these nine players to stay after relegation…
Cesar Peixoto has replaced the Englishman as head coach, and the appointment has Jorge Mendes’ fingerprints all over it.
He will now be assessing the state of play, as he looks to make a big impression early doors.
Peixoto is said to have already spoken to Kieran Trippier, who has been left reassured about the Portuguese plans for the new season. Apparently, he’ll be crucial to Peixoto’s style of play and that suggests he’ll feature heavily.
And it looks Pedro Lima will be sticking around as another option for Peixoto.
Pedro Lima and Kieran Trippier to be Wolves right-back options
The Telegraph have reported that Jackson Tchatchoua is expected to leave.
The publication have also said that reports linking Wolves to the Famalicao right-back Rodrigo Pinheiro are ‘inaccurate’.

Therefore, Trippier and Pedro Lima are set to be Wolves’ right-back options. Although there is currently no word about the plan for Ki-Jana Hoever.
It had previously been reported that Shakhtar Donetski were in talks to sign Lima, but it looks like those talks haven’t gone anywhere.
But that’s exciting, because Lima arrived at Molineux as a player with big potential.
He had a loan spell at Porto but didn’t play. He then returned to Wolves in January, and made a handful of appearances towards the end of the season.
And actually, Edwards has potentially done Wolves a great favour by using the youngster in those finals games.
Lima did struggle at times during those final six games, but they will undoubtedly have been invaluable to his development
Have Wolves made the right decision appointing Cesar Peixoto? 🤔
A NINTH managerial job since 2019 for Peixoto and first outside of Portugal…
Lima needed exposing to the rough and tumble of the English game, and it will stand him in good stead ahead of playing in the Championship.
That he has Trippier as a teammate is also really positive.
The Englishman has extensive experience of the game and the position, and he will have plenty of pearls of wisdom to pass the young Brazilian, as he seeks to finally prove himself a Molineux.
