Wolves have just confirmed the signing of Raul Jimenez.
A return to Molineux for the striker was mooted by Jimenez himself a few weeks ago, and the club had held some early talks with the player.
And in the last few days, things have really accelerated.
Raul Jimenez has returned! 🚨 Is this a good move by Wolves and how many goals is he bagging in the Championship? 🐺
The Mexican returns on a free transfer three years after leaving…
Wolves sent officials to Mexico, where Jimenez is about to play at the World Cup, to finalise a move for the player.
The trip was a success, with Wolves reportedly reaching an agreement to sign him.
And after those reports emerged, the club have just announced the move.
Wolves sign Raul Jimenez on free transfer

Earlier tonight in an interview with journalist Jack Kelly, Fulham director Tony Khan was asked about Jimenez and had strongly hinted Jimenez was heading to Wolves.
He was actually asked about why Jimenez didn’t get much of a goodbye message from the club.
Jimenez’s departure was announced by Fulham via their website alongside a few others, and he did not receive his own acknowledgment despite spending three years at Craven Cottage.
There was then talk about Jimenez’s next move, and Khan pretty much confirmed Jimenez was Molineux-bound.
He said: “My understanding was there is supposed to be something posted tonight… I actually wrote a quote on Friday for this. I’ll read my quote that I sent the club I sent on Friday, and I’m not the admin so…
“Those guys do a fantastic job. Now I don’t know why… I understand it’s being posted tonight. So maybe something has gone up or is going up now. Here’s the quote I sent on Friday, I believe some of this also comes down to Wolves. And their timing, with announcements. But we’ll see. I think that’s probably where he’s going back to.

“I’ll read you my quote. I really think he’s fantastic. ‘Since joining us in 2023, Raul Jimenez has been tremendous for Fulham. He’s always done his best for the squad and for the Fulham supporters, we’re grateful for his valuable contributions to the team during his time here. All the very best for the future Raul, and thank you.”
And in the last moments, Wolves have confirmed the signing of Jimenez via their official website.
Rob Edwards reacts
Speaking about the move, manager Rob Edwards said (via Wolves official): “When I spoke to Raul, he didn’t need any convincing, but I think there’s been a lot of for him to think about with his family as they’ve been living in London, and the kids are still younger, but they’re in school in London, and everything else that goes with it, so there’s going to be a move back up here, and there were other options for him to think about as well, rightly so, because he’s a very good player, but he feels this is the right thing for him.
“He definitely would have felt the love towards the end of the season when he came back to Molineux, and that certainly would have helped. It was a bit strange in that game as I could sense the crowd thinking how good it would be if Raul scores the winner here, and I wasn’t sure I liked it, but at the same time I appreciated how much he means to the supporters and to the football club.
“Although he’s had a bit to think about, this is one where it’s in his heart, the club is in his heart, and it means so much to him.”
It’s a huge development, and one that follows another very positive move with Kieran Trippier.
