Wolves fans have been left delighted by the signing of Kieran Trippier, who has mentioned a few players in his first interview.
Wanderers are needing to operate with speed and conviction this summer, and the club have made a very good start.
Trippier is the first new signing, and Raul Jimenez is now set to follow. Potentially, those two additions could pave the way for more signings of similar quality.
It’s official, Kieran Trippier is a Wolf! 🚨 How important a signing will he be for the club?
The full-back is the first addition of the summer for the Old Gold… 🐺
Andre also recently signed a new deal at Wolves, and generally speaking, fans are starting to feel optimistic about the 2026/27 season.
But there’s still plenty of work to be done.
Trippier knows that, but he clearly feels good about the project and that Wolves’ squad will be competitive.
And he’s already a fan of two players in particular.
Kieran Trippier talks up Andre and Mateus Mane
Trippier signing is a real statement of intent by Wolves.
The defender has confirmed he had conversations with other clubs, but mentioned that Rob Edwards’ passion was a big factor in his decision to come to Molineux.

He has also said he likes a challenge, talking up the impact he made for Newcastle United when he first signed for them when they were struggling.
But Trippier feels there are already some quality players at Wolves, with the full-back name-dropping Andre and Mateus Mane.
He said (via Wolves official): “I was speaking to Joelinton, and he’s an absolute unit as well, but he was playing Andre and he told me he had a tough battle.
“(Mateus) Mane is a very good player, and he played on the game at Molineux against me, but he’s a very, very good player and I’m really looking forward to meeting him and training with him.”
Trippier also stated that he knows Sam Johnstone from England.
But if anything Trippier’s words here just indicate what a big deal it was for Wolves to tie Andre down to a new contract.
It felt significant at the time, but it really could help Wolves this summer when it comes to selling the project to would-be signings.
Raul Jimenez has returned! 🚨 Is this a good move by Wolves and how many goals is he bagging in the Championship? 🐺
The Mexican returns on a free transfer three years after leaving…
Had he not signed fresh terms, perhaps Trippier may not have been as willing to come.
Mane also had some interest in him in recent months, but like Andre, he will stay this summer having talked about repaying the club’s faith in him.
Mane is someone who could especially benefit from playing with someone like Trippier, who can guide the youngster both on and off the pitch.
