There’s been a lot of talk about Raul Jimenez in recent days – and today there has been a major development with Wolves agreeing a deal with the striker.

In recent days Fulham confirmed that Jimenez was leaving on the expiry of his contract.

It was then reported that Wolves representatives were to fly out to Mexico to meet with Jimenez for further talks about a return to Molineux.

Jimenez, of course, had floated the idea of coming back a couple of weeks ago, and there had been some initial early talks.

But the situation has now moved quite quickly – and Wolves are all set to announce the star’s sensational return.

Journalist Liam Keen has reported via the E&S this afternoon that Jimenez and Wolves have reached an agreement for the striker to return.

He will come back and sign a two-year contract, and have an option for a further 12 months.

Since Jimenez has been set to feature in the opening game of the 2026 World Cup for Mexico, Wolves staff have had to work quickly.

And the talks have clearly been very productive.

It’s even been claimed that Jimenez has already done his medical ahead of the move.

It is a move that will delight Wolves supporters, who have regularly sung Jimenez’s name in games since he departed in the summer of 2023.

In his first stint, Jimenez scored 57 goals in 166 appearances for the Old Gold, and was widely regarded as one of the most fearsome strikers in the Premier League before his head injury in 2021.

The move by Wolves here will instil more confidence in the fanbase, after the club also completed a free transfer for Kieran Trippier.

It’s two brilliant additions for Wolves to kickstart the summer, which follows the new contract signed by Andre.

The trio of Rob Edwards, Nathan Shi and Matt Jackson are firmly under the radar at the moment, but to their credit all three have made a really good start.
