Three Wolves players who’d surely love Raul Jimenez to return

Wolves fans are talking about a potential return to the club for Raul Jimenez this summer, after the former Molineux striker fuelled speculation at the weekend.

Raul Jimenez was back at Molineux with Fulham, and came on as a substitute in the second-half.

And after the game, the 35-year-old made some very interesting comments.

Should Wolves make a move for Raul Jimenez this summer?! 👀

When asked about potentially returning to Wolves, he said: “Why not? There is always a possibility. Let’s see.

“It would be nice, more after today, let’s see. I don’t know, maybe. But I don’t know.”

Liam Keen has said early conversations have begun about a potential return, but stated there’s also interest from the MLS.

But it seems we all need to watch this space, and here are a few players who could really benefit from a sensational return for Jimenez.

Mateus Mane

Mateus Mane has been a shining light during a very dark season for Wolves, and it seems he is now set to stay after new comments by Rob Edwards.

We’ve seen him play a number of different roles so far for Wolves, but it’s clear he’s a creative player who thrives in and around the final third.

Against Fulham, he was used in the number 10 position.

If he played there next term, he would naturally be linking up with Jimenez quite a lot.

Mane can also play up top, and would surely learn a lot from the Mexican, who would surely take the teenager under his wing.

Adam Armstrong

Adam Armstrong is currently wearing Jimenez’s old number nine shirt for Wolves, and whether he would give it up for the striker if he came back remains to be seen.

But Armstrong would surely be a player who’d welcome the signing of Jimenez with open arms.

He’s had a tough start so far at Wolves and has done a lot of running for the Old Gold without threatening too much. He has only scored one goal since his mid-season move.

It’s sometimes felt like he’s needed someone else alongside him to link up with – and maybe an Armstrong-Jimenez pairing could be fruitful in the Championship.

We saw Jimenez play with Diogo Jota at Wolves and later Hwang Hee-chan. Armstrong – who is another mobile player – could well be his latest foil.

But at the very least, Jimenez would have plenty of pearls of wisdom about general striker play to give to Armstrong.

Rodrigo Gomes

Wolves want to keep hold of Rodrigo Gomes this summer, and the Portuguese would surely love to have someone like Jimenez in the box to put balls in for.

He’s played a lot of right wing-back so far due to that being the default system.

But against Fulham we saw him play as a right winger, and he played a part in Mane’s goal.

Rodrigo prefers to play as a winger, so hopefully we do see him playing further forward more often in 2026/27.

If he does, and Jimenez is leading the line, he is bound to contribute quite a few assists.

We often saw Pedro Neto get to the byline for Wolves and get balls into the box for Jimenez and there’s no reason Rodrigo can’t do the same.
