Following Wolves’ draw with Fulham on Sunday, an exciting story dropped about Raul Jimenez opening the door to a potential return to Molineux.
The former Old Gold number nine came on as a substitute for Fulham in the game, and he inevitably received a great reception from the home fans, who have not forgotten his amazing contributions during his five years at the club.
After the game, some very interesting quotes from Jimenez were published.
Should Wolves make a move for Raul Jimenez this summer?! 👀
The former striker has opened the door to a sensational return with his contract about to expire at Fulham!
He had been asked about potentially returning to Wolves one day, and replied: “Why not? There is always a possibility. Let’s see.
“It would be nice, more after today, let’s see.”
Asked if a move could happen this summer, he added: “I don’t know, maybe. But I don’t know.”
Today, journalist Liam Keen has given some more details about Jimenez’ possible return to the club.
Raul Jimenez to Wolves this summer not yet advanced, has MLS interest too

Jimenez remains a hugely popular figure amongst Wolves fans.
This season, his song has been sung in several games, and many have expressed their desire to see him come back on social media.
Now, it seems there is a genuine possibility that it could happen with these comments from the player.
But journalist Liam Keen has stated that while Wolves have had initial conversations about this, nothing is advanced.
He said on the E&S podcast: “The interview says a lot, it really does. You add that to my information about some early conversations that I’ve been aware of with Raul. Again, very early days.
“I’m not for a moment suggesting it’s advanced or done or Wolves are definitely going to re-sign the player. But it’s certainly big news that there have been those very early conversations.
“To add to that, I believe there’s interest from the MLS in Raul as well. So obviously there will be quite a few clubs, I suspect, that would take a player of his quality.
“There’s a long way to go. Wages would be a big stumbling block. Make-up of the squad in general would be a stumbling block in terms of what space they’ve got to bring a player like that in. What other deals they want to do. The interest he’ll have from elsewhere. Not by any means is it close, but it’s exciting to even have it as a possibility.”
Keen did talk about Jimenez perhaps knowing what he was doing by making the comments he did, but still urged fans to ‘watch this space’.
Jimenez signing could galvanise Wolves as a club
Fans have been getting very excited on social media about the prospect of Jimenez coming back, and understandably so.
He was amazing for the club and is still thought of extremely highly.
Of course, he is no longer the same player as he was in his early years at Wolves.
| Jimenez for Wolves (2018-2023) | Jimenez for Fulham so far (2023-present) |
| Appearances – 166 | Appearances – 114 |
| Goals – 57 | Goals – 31 |
| Assists – 23 | Assists – 6 |
But he’s still been doing a job at the age of 35. For Fulham this term he’s scored nine goals and made three assists in 35 appearances.
In total for Fulham, Jimenez has scored 31 in 114, with six assists.
The feeling around Wolves at the moment is perhaps the lowest it has been for many years.
But the signing of such a popular former player might just go a long way in mending the relationship between the club and the fans.
