Tottenham’s interest in Wolves winger Adama Traore was widely reported in the closing weeks of the summer transfer window.
They didn’t sign the Spaniard – or even come particularly close – and now he’s in talks over a new contract.
But the Athletic report that Spurs will try again to sign a new forward player in the January window.
And Traore is again a man on their radar despite those contract talks.

If Traore signs the new contract, Tottenham’s prospects of signing him would surely be dead.
It would take mega money to land Traore at that stage and unless Daniel Levy sells Harry Kane, he won’t have it to spend.
Hopefully, he puts pen to paper on a new deal soon and it ends the speculation before the window has even opened.
Traore was thrilling against Spurs in the league this season too, with David Edwards calling him ‘sensational’ in the August defeat at Molineux.

But while he hasn’t signed – and has now been benched for two Premier League games in a row – there is some uncertainty there.
That’s because he is now into the final two years of his contract, as most Wolves fans will know.
Spurs will likely try and push for a cheap deal again, because that’s what they do.
By the time the window is open, let’s hope Wolves will be in a situation where only a huge offer can lure Traore away from a shiny new long-term contract.
