Cesar Peixoto will attempt to get Wolves promoted at the first time of asking, and one new claim about Sasa Kalajdzic is encouraging.
The Portuguese is currently assessing the state of play ahead of the 2026/27 season, having recently replaced Rob Edwards as manager.
Wolves have a lot to do, but have brought in two high-profile players on free transfers in Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez.

The sacking of Edwards was a bit messy. But Wolves now begin their new era with another Jorge Mendes client at the helm.
It’s thought Peixoto will bring an exciting style of play to Molineux, and that goals will flow fairly regularly.
And given new reports, Wolves look set to boast an amazing pool of striker options.
Wolves set to boast three amazing strikers with Sasa Kalajdzic exit looking unlikely

The acquisition of Raul Jimenez was quite something from Wolves.
The Mexican is a legend of the club, and still has so much to offer despite being 35.
We’ve been seeing his quality at the World Cup with Mexico, and he also just finished a productive season with Fulham in which he scored nine goals and made three assists.
The respect he will command in the dressing room can only be a good thing, and his signing could genuinely be transformative.
You’ve then got Adam Armstrong. He found it a little tough in the second half of last season, but the supply to him was awful, and really, he was signed with the Championship in mind.
He’s scored 91 goals and made 37 assists in 277 appearances in the division – a hugely impressive return.
So that’s two solid options, but Wolves could now add – or rather, welcome back into the fold – a third in Sasa Kalajdzic.
Sky Sports reporter Philipp Hinze reported on X on Monday: “Sasa Kalajdzic’s Wolves contract runs until 2027 + option for a one-year extension. Earned around £4m/season during PL times. Salary decreases slightly due to relegation, but it’s still a top contract.
“Currently getting nothing financially adequate in Europe. If the 28-year-old switches, it would be on reduced pay. In summer, transfer fee in the low single-digit million range. If he stays, it’s into the mission promotion with the Wolves.”
Essentially, this suggests that Kalajdzic would take a salary cut if he left, making an exit potentially more unlikely.
It would be brilliant if Kalajdzic stayed, because Wolves would then have the perfect rotation option.
How would you feel about Wolves bringing Sasa Kalajdzic back into the fold next season? Would it be wise?
Seven goals and 11 assists on loan at LASK in 25/26… 👀
We saw him come off the bench to score for Austria against Algeria at the World Cup to send his nation through to the Round of 32, and he could definitely make that kind of impact for Wolves next term.
And not just that. The season he just had with LASK shows he is clearly good enough to start games here and there.
So there is reason for excitement for Peixoto. Certainly, options of Jimenez, Armstrong and Kalajdzic would be frightening for the rest of the league. Between them last season, they got 49 goal involvements, which is a huge reason for optimism.
