Joao Gomes tweets cryptic four-word message as Wolves speculation swirls

Wolves remain very keen to sign Joao Gomes from Flamengo, and last night the player composed a cryptic tweet.

Gomes is still in Brazil at the moment, having been on the verge of flying to England.

Wolves agreed a fee with Flamengo for the player’s transfer.

But French club Lyon then came in with a slightly bigger offer, which has completely thrown a spanner in the works.

Flamengo, naturally, have been hoping to do business with the club that has offered more money.

But the issue for them is that Gomes wants Wolves. He has even apparently given the club his word, and seems keen to stick by that.

Wolves don’t intend to raise their offer that originally got accepted. Seemingly the plan is to wait for Flamengo to cave, with Gomes unwilling to join Lyon.

There is now only a week remaining in the January transfer market.

So there is going to be movement on this situation very soon, one way or another.

Last week, Gomes tweeted a ‘thinking’ emoji. And last night, the youngster was back on Twitter.

He sent the rather cryptic four-word message ‘Time is a teacher’, with an accompanying ‘wink face’ emoji.

It surely relates to his current transfer situation. What exactly he means though, is of course open to interpretation.

It could be that he is suggesting for Wolves fans to have patience. That things will become apparent in time.

Joao Gomes saga will soon conclude and Wolves move seems more likely than not, as player makes cryptic tweet

If we are to take everything that has been reported so far to be the truth, then Wolves are surely in a decent position to complete the signing of Gomes.

He seemingly really wants to join the club rather than Lyon.

South American expert Tim Vickery has backed Wolves to get the deal done.

And with this latest tweet from the player, he may well soon be Molineux-bound.
