Wolves head of performance analysis and research Mat Pearson has raved about Adama Traore.
At a conference organised by the Coaches Voice, Pearson was asked about providing targets for Traore to hit.
It’s not easy, because the Spanish international is so fast and so strong. It’s all about using him correctly.

“Adama’s metrics are just ridiculous in most ways,” said Pearson.
“It’s just understanding how we can fit his strengths – we know they’re super strengths for him – into how we want to play as a team.
“That’s the challenge for the coach as well, to say we’ve got this incredible player with such unique ability – how do we want to use him? But also factoring that into the opposition.
“So if we’re playing against a team with a really high line and a narrow defensive shape, we’d say ‘stay out a little bit more’. You’ve got the pace, you don’t need to be playing on the offside line or receiving into feet.”

The conversation with Traore is always down the same lines; how to get the best out of the gifts he has at his disposal.
He is getting into dangerous areas under Bruno Lage now.
The next step is finishing his chances, and the one after that will be doing it on a consistent basis.
That’s the challenge for the player and the club to get to grips with, and if they do, Traore is going to become an even bigger star than he is now.
