Raul Jimenez scored his first goal of 2021 in Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Stoke this afternoon.
Before pre-season, the Mexican talisman had been out since November and the next step in his recovery was a goal.
He netted the equaliser after former Old Gold defender Danny Batth put Stoke ahead in the first half.
And defender Marcal has shared what it’s like having Jimenez back out on the pitch.

He told the club’s website: “We are very happy because I think, for us, when we play with Raul it’s different because he’s a very good player, a top player.
“When he got injured, it was hard, I was there, we were there, it was difficult for him and for us too, and to see him now on the pitch is crazy because when you are looking in front of you and see Raul, it’s top.”
“I think we did a good game, with every player we did one week, with everybody.
“We’re continuing to do what we did last season, but this season we have one more player, because the fans are with us and we’ll fight until the last minute for them.”
Jimenez being back will give the whole squad a boost. He leads the line so well and is a constant nuisance to defenders.
Wolves now know they can challenge any backline again and if a game isn’t going their way, there’s always the threat of Jimenez which could grab a goal.
The goal will give him even more confidence and stand him in good stead to find the back of the net regularly when the serious stuff starts.
