Wolves have taken the decision to sack Rob Edwards – and details are beginning to emerge about the feeling behind the scenes.

After such a positive past couple of weeks or so, Wanderers have now thrown a spanner in the works by making a managerial change.

It is perhaps not the decision itself. But certainly, the timing and nature of it has prompted many to criticise Wolves.

Could Wolves’ messy sacking of Rob Edwards now derail the club’s summer and promotion bid? 🤔

Both players and staff were blind-sided by the decision with plenty left unhappy… 😳

It has seemingly all happened so quickly.

Rob Edwards’ focus had been firmly on guiding the club into the new season. But that will now not be happening, with Cesar Peixoto set to take over.

But what about all those behind the scenes at Wolves following this huge development? Fresh details have just emerged on that.

Rob Edwards sacking has upset and angered many at Wolves

Edwards himself only discovered that he was going to be sacked after family members had informed him of rumours on social media.

This prompted Edwards to contact the club to ascertain what was going on.

This morning, he was informed by technical director Matt Jackson that he was being sacked.

As per the E&S, ‘no-one at the club saw it coming, including many at the very top’.

The publication adds: “It is understood that many staff internally at the football club are bemused by the decision, with some angry at the way it was done and the lack of transparency.”

And The Telegraph also provide word about the feeling of the players.

Worryingly the decision to sack Edwards is said to have caused ‘outrage’ in the dressing room.

Interestingly, Edwards was apparently told on Wednesday that reports of his potential sacking were ‘inaccurate’.

Who should Nathan Shi and Matt Jackson be looking to bring in at Wolves this summer? 🤔

Let's hear your suggestions – and they don't have to be any of the four players pictured!

Raul Jimenez, Kieran Trippier, Jordan James and Nikolas Polster are some of the early links ahead of the summer window opening…

Wolves have now created a big problem for themselves.

This move has clearly gone down very poorly behind the scenes and there is every chance now that some players who had perhaps been planning to stay may explore other options.

Regardless of how Edwards performed as a manager, it is simply not a good look and there could well be further ramifications.
