Wolves fans are trying to get their heads around Rob Edwards being sacked this morning.
Late last night, it was claimed an agreement in principle was reached for Cesar Peixoto to become the new head coach at Molineux.
That obviously cast major doubt on Edwards’ position.
He was then told by family members about the rumours, and he reportedly then rung the club to learn of the decision.
It is a move by the club that has prompted a huge reaction.
While plenty were in favour of Edwards getting sacked a few weeks ago, he undoubtedly played a part in some big decisions in recent weeks that dramatically improved the mood.
Amid all the confusion, a new claim has now been made that makes the situation all the more strange.
Rob Edwards held transfer meeting just last Friday

According to Alex Crook, Edwards actually held a meeting just last Friday with senior figures to plan for more signings.
If Wolves were planning to change manager, then it seems very odd that they would speak with Edwards about more transfer deals.
That would suggest that the club were happy to proceed with him as head coach. Otherwise what would be the point?
But clearly that ultimately wasn’t the case, with Wolves now making the stunning decision to sack Edwards.
And the move has been every bit as surprising to those within the club.
In another post, Crook said: “Senior staff members were also unaware Edwards had been sacked as recently as last night.”
It is simply a crazy situation.
Wolves appeared to be improving the mood slowly but surely after such a dismal past 12 months, and Edwards had played his part in that.
Who should Nathan Shi and Matt Jackson be looking to bring in at Wolves this summer? 🤔
Let's hear your suggestions – and they don't have to be any of the four players pictured!
Ultimately, it’s just poor from the club.
If there was doubt about Edwards being the man to take the club forward and oversee the rebuild, then he should have been sacked after the last game with Burnley.
To give him the impression he was still going to be the man for the job, and to use him to land Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez, and to keep Andre, and then not manage any of them, is poor form.
What will certainly be interesting is that first reaction from Edwards. Because everything that’s being reported now surely cannot have gone down well with him.
