It has been a solid start to the summer for Wolves, but in a dramatic development, the club appear set to name a new manager in the form of Cesar Peixoto.
The Old Gold have been really productive over the past couple of weeks in their preparation for life in the Championship.
Should Rob Edwards still be Wolves’ manager for the start of 2026/27 season? 🤔
If not, let us know in the comments who the club should look to replace him with…
Andre signed a new deal, and we’ve seen two high-profile players arrive in Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez.
That has improved the mood dramatically after relegation. And it has got to the point where lots of people were back behind Rob Edwards.
However, it has been reported that Wolves are set to ditch Edwards and name Cesar Peixoto as their new manager.
Wolves reach agreement with Cesar Peixoto

A Bola had reported on Wednesday that Wolves had sounded out Cesar Peixoto as a replacement for Edwards.
He is the current manager of Gil Vicente, and last season he impressively guided the club to a sixth-placed finish.
The publication boldly claimed that there had been advanced talks to appoint Peixoto, with preparations for a possible change having been ongoing behind the scenes for several days.
And late on Wednesday, top journalist Fabrizio Romano exclusively reported that Wolves have now reached an agreement for Peixoto to become the new head coach.
He says that a deal has been agreed in principle, and that a verbal agreement is in place.
It is thought the talks have been handled by Gestifute, with Jorge Mendes involved in the background.
Mendes had been working in Spain to get Jose Mourinho to Real Madrid from Benfica, and he is now expected to give Wolves’ move for Peixoto his full focus.
A Bola said that Wolves see Peixoto as ‘the ideal manager to lead their attempt to secure an immediate return to the Premier League’.
It is quite the development, because there has been little to suggest that Wolves are ready to sack Edwards.
Yes, he did not get particularly good results after replacing Vitor Pereira, and many fans have questioned whether he is the right man to lead Wolves’ rebuild and promotion charge.
But Edwards has regularly spoken about the 2026/27 season, sharing his vision and intentions in recent days and weeks.

Surely if his position was under genuine threat he would not have been making such comments.
But it looks like he is actually now going to leave, and it will be fascinating to hear his thoughts.
This really is a big surprise, because Andre was full of praise for Edwards when he signed his new deal, and Edwards also played a big part in the Trippier and Jimenez deals.
