Wolves have sacked Rob Edwards which has come as a major surprise – and the decision may leave several players unhappy.

After positive days signing the likes of Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez, there is now confusion and for some, anger, with Edwards being relieved of his duties.

Wolves fans, your immediate thoughts on Andre signing a new contract with Wolves?!

Rob Edwards’ job appeared to be safe.

He talked a lot about next season, telling supporters his plans to launch an assault on promotion.

He accepted things were nowhere near good enough last season, and was determined to get the club back into the top-flight.

Edwards won’t get that chance now, with Cesar Peixoto expected to take over. Edwards was tipped off about his impending sacking by family members, who had seen rumours on social media.

It’s a major development, and one cannot help but wonder what Andre in particular may think.

A few weeks ago, Andre signed a new contract at Wolves.

This came rather out of the blue, as many expected he would be one of the first players to leave, given his quality.

In his interview after signing, Andre had said (via Wolves official): “Well, about Rob – ‘Gaffer’ – he gives me a lot of confidence, so I am very grateful to him for everything he has done for me since he arrived, and I really hope to help on the pitch.

“I really want to help him. He’s a sensational guy who deserves to take the club back to the Premier League.

“With the players who are coming in, I believe it will be a very strong squad in which he will have complete control of the situation. I hope that our team can return to the Premier League and may we have many happy years at Wolverhampton.”

And back in April (via Wolves official), Andre had branded Edwards ‘a top gaffer and a top person’, adding he wanted to help him a lot.

Andre could very easily have moved on this summer, given his quality and capability to play at a level much higher than the Championship.

But he clearly signed that contract feeling Edwards would be at the helm.

Now the decision has been made to replace him, where does that leave Andre?

Wolves are playing with fire, and could probably have no complaints if the Brazilian now went to his agent to try and facilitate a move.
