Two refereeing flashpoints dominated Wolves’ trip to face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Bruno Lage’s side had navigated most of the first half stubbornly without too many worries when Raul Jimenez was booked for a soft foul in the middle of the pitch.
Then, he got up and decided to try and block Rodri from taking the free kick. He did so twice, not moving away even after a brief warning from Jon Moss.
DIVOCK ORIGI DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.
Some Wolves fans on Twitter had their say on that decision, which made an already tough task for Wolves even harder.

Red card reaction
Raul has had a moment of madness. So out of character.

First wasn't even a foul.

Penalty reaction
While not many fans could argue with the Jimenez dismissal by the letter of the law, the second major decision of the game was far more contentious.
Joao Moutinho conceded a penalty for handball when blocking Bernardo Silva’s cross.
His hand was above his head but the ball appeared to hit his armpit. VAR took a look but the penalty was awarded and converted by Raheem Sterling to open the scoring.
Here is how that decision went down with some Wolves fans on Twitter…
Not a pen IMO. It looked like one to me at first, but when you look at it closely, it’s not. And I thought that was the rationale for VAR 🤔

What is even the point in having VAR if that isn’t overturned?
— Nick Lapchak (@NLapchak) December 11, 2021
Clear daylight between arm and ball on the angle from front
— adam robinson (@adamrobinson86) December 11, 2021
How can that even be possible
— HarvWWFC (@GriptonHarvey) December 11, 2021
Its literally hit him in the ribs

Hits his armpit, never a pen
