There will be big changes to the Wolves squad this summer, and one man whose future is up in the air is Yerson Mosquera.
Yerson Mosquera has been a regular fixture in Wolves’ backline this term, and has come through the campaign unscathed.
The Colombia international has missed a lot of games for Wolves due to injury since his arrival in 2021, so staying for a whole season would have been one of his main goals.
Wolves fans, talk to us about Yerson Mosquera…
Does his ability and potential make up for the chaos he brings? What kind of level do you see him reaching? 🤔
So far he’s made 25 Premier League appearances, mostly operating on the right of the back three.
And actually, while it’s been a horrible season for Wolves, Mosquera has done OK.
And heading into the summer, a number of clubs are thought to be tracking the 25-year-old.
However, what he’s said ahead of facing Fulham suggests he might be sticking around.
Yerson Mosquera hints at Wolves stay
After the draw with Sunderland, Mosquera spoke about pushing on next season, which some perceived as a suggestion he could be staying.
Ahead of the game with Fulham, Mosquera has been interviewed again by Wolves’ media team – and he has again hinted that he is ready for Wolves’ Championship challenge.
He said: “We can come straight back into the Premier League, for sure. I believe in this club, and that’s the most important thing now – if you believe or not in your club and yourself as well.

“Wolves are a big team as well, and we have the chance to (show) quality to be back again in the Premier League.”
Mosquera went on to say that he loves the club.
So that’s twice now that Mosquera has spoken about the 2026/27 season, and it does feel more like he wants to stick around and help Wanderers get back into the Premier League rather than jump ship;
Perhaps he feels as though he owes Wolves, who supported the defender so well during his injury struggles.
And if that is the case, the fair play to him.
While he clearly still has some disciplinary issues, Wolves could benefit immensely from having Mosquera for their Championship campaign.
That physicality and aggression are traits that should stand him in good stead.
Should any of these NOT be on this list? And are there any who aren’t there who SHOULD be on? 🤔
The Athletic have claimed Wolves would like these nine players to stay after relegation…
A few weeks ago it was reported Mosquera was one of nine players Wolves wanted to stay to form the core of a new-look group.
At the Fan Forum on Tuesday, Rob Edwards said that there were five of six players the club are looking to retain, but he stopped short of naming names.
It’s unclear whether Mosquera was one of those five or six, but definitely feels like the player is keen to remain.
