Wolves have eyes on an English goalkeeper, with Jose Sa set to depart the club this summer.
The Old Gold are now ready for a rebuild after being relegated from the Premier League.
Rob Edwards is expecting to lose several players, and Wolves have a huge amount to do to get this squad in order ready for the Championship.
Who should Nathan Shi and Matt Jackson be looking to bring in at Wolves this summer? 🤔
Let's hear your suggestions – and they don't have to be any of the four players pictured!
After Wolves’ final game of the season against Burnley, Edwards suggested that three players were likely to leave.
Jose Sa was one player mentioned, and it seems the club may have identified a long term replacement.
Wolves want Anthony Patterson
It’s been reported by Sky Sports’ Keith Downey today that Wolves are one of a few clubs looking at Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson.
Patterson has fallen down the pecking order at Sunderland in recent times and he actually spent the second-half of last season on loan at Millwall.
With Sunderland now having Robin Roefs, and additional competition coming from Melker Ellborg, an exit for Patterson is looking likely.
Downey says: “Sunderland will listen to offers of at least £8m for goalkeeper Anthony Patterson this summer.

“The shot-stopper is available after falling behind Robin Roefs & Melker Ellborg in the #SAFC ranks.
“Wolves, Wrexham & Millwall are amongst the Championship clubs keen.”
Of course, Millwall are likely Wolves’ strongest competition here since they just had him on loan.
But Wolves are really in need of a new goalkeeper with Sa – who has already hinted he’ll depart – set to go.
Sam Johnstone is always someone who could be on his way out. Realistically, Wolves need a younger stopper with Sa and Johnstone both 33.
Patterson has two traits Sa doesn’t have
If Patterson is the man to replace Sa this summer, then fans can expect to see him do something much better than the Portuguese, which is to play out from the back.
Indeed, Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Moore said of him a few years ago (via Northern Echo): “Patto is right up there [with keepers I’ve worked with].

“I’ve followed him for a while even before I came here and he’s class, he pulls off some unbelievable saves. He’s underrated with the ball at his feet as well, calm and composed. His handling is excellent, he can without a shadow of a doubt play at the top.”
‘Calm’ and ‘composed’ are not words Wolves fans have been able to use about Sa too often over the last few years, so in that sense a move for Patterson will be welcomed by a lot of people.
