Wolves are heading into a pivotal summer with their goalkeeping department under clear review, and the signs now point towards decisive change rather than minor adjustment.
After the club’s relegation, it will be all change for the Old Gold this summer, as Championship football beckons for 2026/27.
Should any of these NOT be on this list? And are there any who aren’t there who SHOULD be on? 🤔
The Athletic have claimed Wolves would like these nine players to stay after relegation…
A large number of players will be moving on, as Wolves seek to build a squad that can compete in the second tier.
Rob Edwards recently stated he’ll be speaking with both Jose Sa and Sam Johnstone about their futures.
And now, we have our first link to a potential new number one.
Wolves eye Nikolas Polster
According to the Daily Mail, Wolves are monitoring Nikolas Polster, the 23 year old Wolfsberger goalkeeper.
The club have joined the race, with interest growing around a player already compared to Manuel Neuer for his style.

Polster operates high off his line, and engages as a sweeping presence, and is comfortable initiating play with the ball at his feet. These are certainly traits Neuer has regularly shown during his illustrious career
Polster isn’t simply a shot stopper. He is involved in the build up, positions himself aggressively, and plays with the authority expected from a modern goalkeeper.
Both Sa and Johnstone have been criticised for not commanding their areas enough, so potentially this could be a good addition.
But Wolves do face competition from Celtic.
Brighton and Brentford are also credited with an interest, as are Saint-Etienne.
Wolves need new number one
Both Sa and Johnstone could move on this summer.
Edwards says he needs to speak to both players, but both have been linked with exits already.
Sa seems especially likely to go though, after it was reported that he desperately tried to leave Wolves in January to join Nottingham Forest.

That was a clear indicator that Wanderers need to move on from the Portuguese.
Johnstone’s uncertain standing only adds to the lack of clarity, leaving Wolves without a defined long term number one.
We’ll see if there will be movement on Polster, who has kept seven clean sheets this season, which is more than Sa and Johnstone combined.
