The Championship season is officially over and yesterday, Alex Scott appeared to say goodbye to Bristol City fans.
The 19-year-old has been strongly linked with an exit from Ashton Gate this summer.
It has been a wonderful season for the midfielder.
He was recently named Championship Young Player of the Season, and also made Team of the Season.
And he also won Bristol City’s Player and Young Player of the Season awards.
The 19-year-old’s stock couldn’t really be much higher right now. He has truly impressed over the last nine months or so.
Earlier this season, he played against Manchester City in the FA Cup, and his performance led Pep Guardiola to brand him ‘unbelievable’.
Jack Grealish also praised him on Twitter.
As a result of his amazing form this term, there has been strong speculation that he will leave.
Wolves were reported to have held talks with Bristol City back in January about a potential mid-season move. But the £25 million asking price proved prohibitive.
Express & Star journalist Liam Keen said recently that Julen Lopetegui absolutely loves the player, and that Scott would be open to a move to Molineux.
And it looks like he could be on the move, given the way he acknowledged Robins fans after the 2-0 win over QPR yesterday.
Footage from a fan (uploaded to Twitter by @BristolOli) shows Scott applauding the away fans. He is kind of off to the side, before Andy King comes and grabs him and ushers him right in front of the supporters.
Scott then gives them a thumbs up and a wave.
It is thought the youngster will cost at least £25 million this summer.
Alex Scott’s behaviour after Bristol City’s final game could be a promising sign for Wolves
There has to be something in the way Scott acknowledged the fans at the end yesterday.
The way King went and got him, it was as though it’s known he will be leaving.
It would certainly be a major surprise if he stayed put. Scott has been simply sensational, and has many teams on his tail.
Hopefully if indeed he is leaving, then Molineux is his next destination.
It has sounded as though he is keen to make the move, and it would be a very exciting capture for the club.
