Reported Wolves target Alex Scott would apparently been open to making a move to Molineux this summer.
Journalist Liam Keen has been speaking about the Bristol City youngster on the latest Express & Star podcast.
Scott is highly coveted having absolutely starred for the Robins this season.
The 19-year-old has dazzled in the Championship and recently impressed Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who called him ‘unbelievable’ after the two teams met in the FA Cup.
Wolves held talks with Bristol City in January over Scott.
But it was pretty much a non-starter due to City’s asking price – thought to be £25 million.
A report from The Telegraph last week claimed Wolves are ready to renew their efforts to sign Scott this summer.
And Keen has now shed some light on the player’s stance.
He said: “I think Spurs and Everton have been mentioned. There’s a few other rumours as well. But as far as I understand it, the player likes Wolves. He would be keen on the move to Wolves. It’s whether they can make it happen, and whether another club turns his head.
“I think Wolves are in a fairly promising position with this one. It depends if they can make it work.
Keen also says Julen Lopetegui is a big fan of Scott.
“As far as I’m aware, the manager absolutely loves him and is really keen to bring him in.”
Very encouraging update from Liam Keen on Wolves target Alex Scott, as Julen Lopetegui eyes summer move
This is a really positive update from Keen on the Scott situation.
It sounds very much as though Scott has an eye on moving to Wolves this summer.
But that obviously does not guarantee that he will come.
Interest in Scott will be sky high this summer and Bristol City will undoubtedly be looking to sell for as high a fee as possible if they can’t keep him. Nigel Pearson spoke recently about Scott and said he should cost more than £25 million.
It is very possible other clubs could blow Wolves out of the water.
That said, we have seen with the Joao Gomes transfer that a player’s stance can be very significant.
