Wolves are about to rebuild their squad for the Championship – and Kieran Trippier could be one of the first new players through the door.

After being relegated from the Premier League, the Old Gold are now set for a new chapter.

Fans are expecting a huge response after the club lost their top-flight status, and the aim is to achieve promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Would you back a free swoop for Kieran Trippier by Wolves this summer? 🤔

It will not be easy, with plenty of clubs posing a real challenge to Wolves next season. West Ham United keeping Nuno Espirito Santo as their manager is arguably not good news for Wanderers.

A lot of work will now need to be done, with several players to be shipped out and replaced.

Wolves need to address the right-back position and Kieran Trippier is a player the club have had talks with.

It was reported recently that Wolves could move for Trippier, who is leaving Newcastle United.

The 35-year-old has enjoyed a great spell at St. James’ Park, and has played a massive role in their transition from Premier League strugglers to competitive outfit pushing for Europe. Although the Magpies did not have a good 2025/26 season.

It’s time for a new chapter now for Trippier and Wolves are in the mix to sign him.

And the Daily Mail have today shared a couple of reasons why Wolves are keen.

They say that Wolves don’t just value what he brings on the pitch – they see him as leader and mentor for the dressing room.

Eddie Howe has called Trippier one of the best players he’s ever managed, and his professionalism would surely benefit Wolves’ dressing room massively.

But Wolves have their work cut out to sign him.

The Daily Mail say there’s interest from other Premier League clubs and also Saudi Arabia.

Trippier is an essential signing

We’ll see if Wolves can get this one over the line, but it would be another statement of intent from Wolves after the new contract for Andre.

Trippier may be getting on a bit, but he still started 18 games in the Premier League for Newcastle in 2025/26.

Given that it looks like Wolves will lose an experienced defender in Matt Doherty, Trippier really could be an ideal signing.

And it’s also worth mentioning that he offers versatility and set-piece ability.
