Leeds United are willing to pay a club-record £40 million to sign Wolves wideman Adama Traore this summer, according to Eurosport.
They report that previous indications are that Traore would command more like double that – £80 million.
But in the current financial climate, Leeds are apparently trying to find out how much it would take to land the Spaniard.
Some Wolves fans on Twitter have laughed off the report, claiming that’s not enough to land one of their best players.
Traore is currently off at Euro 2020 with his country, but he was an unused substitute in their 0-0 draw with Sweden in Seville on Tuesday.
A strong summer there would likely send his market value soaring, and Luis Enrique may ring the changes after a disappointing opening night for his team.
Some Old Gold supporters don’t want to see him go, and if he does, it’s clear they’re not happy with the mooted fee.
Here’s how the rumour went down on Twitter:
Why would he leave a club like wolves to go to Leeds
— Newport Wolves (@WolvesNewport) June 15, 2021
Why sell him to Leeds and make them stronger and us weaker.

He may not have performed to his abilities this season but who has?. Plus he was the best player on the pitch the last few games.
Only sell to big club for big money imo.
No chance of getting him then, Fosun would want near double that to even think about it

Let the bidding war with Liverpool and Chelsea begin. Maybe we can steal £60m for him.

they will continue to go on admiring then 🙂

Well they can do one then

Then you can’t have him
— Mick wwfc (@Mickwwfc) June 15, 2021
errr no

£40m isn’t anywhere near enough & we shouldn’t let him go to a rival, which means it’s likely to happen for more like £25m to be reinvested in some waste of money from Portugal.
