Journalist Vene Casagrande, who was the first to break the news about Wolves’ pursuit of Gomes two weeks ago, has tweeted this evening that he has now landed.

He adds: “The English club prepares a special material to announce the signing of the midfielder with Flamengo.”

It will certainly be interesting to see how Wolves do officially announce this particular transfer.

It does feel as though this is more of a special transfer compared to a lot of others.

The notion Gomes has always wanted Wolves and has shunned Lyon to make the move happen has already brought him cult hero status for some.
