Wolves are set to announce the arrival of Cesar Peixoto soon – and the Portuguese will potentially have one pressing concern on his hands.
After the sacking of Rob Edwards last week, supporters are waiting to see Peixoto officially set into the hot seat at Molineux.
Peixoto is thought to have been at Molineux to finalise his move and sign a contract. It is expected that official confirmation of the move is now imminent.
How do you think Mateus Mane will fare in the Championship next season? 🤔
His latest comments strongly suggest he'll be staying! 🙌
And Peixoto will be thrown in at the deep end.
There is a lot to do this summer at Wolves, and he may well already be on the back foot following the way Wolves handled Edwards’ sacking, which is said to have left some staff and players unhappy.
It’s possible we could have a scenario whereby players want to leave, even ones that have already hinted they’ll stay like Mateus Mane.
Test for Cesar Peixoto as clubs eye Mateus Mane
The E&S have reported that interest is now growing again in Mateus Mane.
Mane had previously hinted that he would be staying at Wolves for the promotion push, saying how he felt he owed Wolves for plucking him from obscurity and being so good to him.

He had said: “Definitely (expects to remain at Wolves), we’ll see what happens this summer. I will just try my best to get Wolves back up in the Premier League where it belongs.
“Definitely, I came and they worked on me very well. They took me on board and now I have got to give it back to them.”
But now, the E&S have said that Mane is attracting interest from Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.
It’s added that ‘several top clubs’ from across the continent have asked about Mane’s availability, with Juventus also enquiring.
Wolves remain keen to keep the player.
Of course, Edwards had stated publicly that Mane would stay at the club for next season. Potentially things may have become less clear-cut now that he’s gone.
So amid the claim that Mane has clubs on his tail, incoming manager Peixoto has his first test.
He can make a statement by keeping hold of Mane.

He should make talking to the youngster one of his very first moves, and let him know that he sees him in the same way as his predecessor did. If, of course, he does feel that way.
Mane could be forgiven for feeling uncertain right now after the sacking of Edwards. He potentially might even feel slightly irked.
It would be a huge shame for Wolves to lose him after he had strongly hinted he would stay. So if there is any possibility of that now happening, Peixoto must work to persuade him to stay.
