Wolves are sitting on a diamond with Ait-Nouri, he must not be sold as Chelsea and Manchester City circle

Wolves youngster Rayan Ait-Nouri is reportedly a target for Manchester City and Chelsea.

The Frenchman was last week linked with the Premier League champions, although it was stated that Wanderers are not anticipating any offers.

And yesterday, it was claimed that Chelsea are now showing interest in the 21-year-old.

City and Chelsea’ interest follows reports late last year that Paris Saint-Germain were showing an interest in the player. This was after he had put in a fantastic performance against Liverpool at Molineux.

Quite simply, Wolves must not consider selling Ait-Nouri this summer.

He has only just completed his first season as a permanent player at Molineux.

So he’s been with the club for two years now. And he is already a much improved player than the one that first joined on loan from Angers.

In 2020/21, Ait-Nouri was very bright going forwards, but his defending left a lot to be desired.

He came back in 2021/22, and regularly showcased a much improved defensive side to his game.

He’s on a very exciting trajectory at the moment, and it is simply too early for the club to be thinking about cashing in.

The youngster has a contract with the club until 2026. So there is absolutely no need to be think about trying to sell right now.

Offers could well come in for Ait-Nouri, but surely the club are better off keeping hold of him and letting him develop.

In two or three years’ time, his market value could be absolutely enormous.

Fosun must not be tempted to sell Ait-Nouri early

Maybe someone will come in with a bid for Ait-Nouri. But Fosun have got to resist temptation.

There are other players to sell before Ait-Nouri if the goal is to boost the transfer kitty.

The France U21 international is perhaps the most exciting youngster at Molineux at the moment, along with Pedro Neto.

The fact his all-round game is now much more balanced is really encouraging, and it’s exciting to think about where he can take his game season upon season.

The owners would be fools to try and turn a quick profit.
