Will Adama Traore sign a new contract at Wolves? It’s the situation every Wanderers fan is desperate to know the answer to.
The Spaniard will be out of contract in the summer of 2023, after signing for the club in 2018 from Middlesbrough.
Wolves managed to retain the star for the 2021/22 season.
But Traore stayed put, and it was thought the club were confident of signing him up to a new contract.
But talks have seemingly stalled again, and we are now just a month away from the January transfer window.
If the player isn’t going to sign, then surely the best thing to do is to sell.
Wolves don’t really want to hang on to someone and risk their value plummeting.
Will Adama Traore sign a new contract after what Lage said today?
Today at his press conference, Bruno Lage made it clear he doesn’t want players departing next month.
He said (via Birmingham Mail): “The main point for January is that everyone should continue with us. For me, no one goes. Everyone continues with us. Maybe we need one or two players to improve our squad.”
This could potentially point to Traore, 25, being ready to sign a new contract.
Or Lage may have said what he said to try and put a bit of pressure on the rapid former Barcelona man.
It is going to be very interesting to see how this plays out.
If Traore does want to go, would Fosun cash in despite Lage not wanting to lose players? Time will tell.
