Wolves’ contract talks with Adama Traore are thought to have stalled once again.

That is the update today from The Athletic, which follows another weekend that the Spaniard did not start for Wolves.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Recently, Traore has been seeing fewer minutes in the old gold shirt, with Bruno Lage turning to Francisco Trincao and Hwang Hee-chan.

Daniel Podence has also had some opportunities.

Lage has denied that Traore’s contract situation is a reason for him being on the bench.

It is going to be very interesting to see what happens with the player in a couple of months.

Wolves were said to be confident of getting Traore to sign an extension after the summer transfer window.

But the picture seems to have changed. There has been no movement on the situation, and The Athletic suggest that talks have stalled again.

No specific reasons are provided as to why this could be.

It could well be that Traore is simply ready to go to a new environment after signing for Wolves back in 2018 from Middlesbrough.

Traore contract talks stalling seemingly point to one outcome

If talks have indeed stalled again, then it’s hard to look past the notion of Traore leaving in the next window.

Fosun will be well aware that failure to offload him in January could mean they’d command much less for him next year.

Lately Wolves have been showing they could be OK without him, although the game on Saturday was crying out for him.

It would be a huge shame to see him go, given what he’s capable of.

But if he won’t extend, Fosun will reluctantly have to try and sell for as much as possible.
