Wolves fans are eager to see what kind of transfer business will be taking place now that Cesar Peixoto has taken over at Molineux.
Rob Edwards was sacked last week, after he played a key role in the free signings of Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez.
Edwards had only been in a transfer meeting to discuss targets just days before his sacking, and his removal as manager took many people at the club by surprise.
Have Wolves made the right decision appointing Cesar Peixoto? 🤔
A NINTH managerial job since 2019 for Peixoto and first outside of Portugal…
But it’s a new era now, and Peixoto is at the helm. And seemingly, there will be a big influence from agent Jorge Mendes over Wolves’ summer business.
The likelihood is that multiple Portuguese players, or players from Portugal, will be coming in.
But one wonders if Peixoto would like to bring in some players who he has just worked with – and here are a few that could make sense.
Luis Esteves – Central midfielder
With Joao Gomes likely to leave, Wolves will be needing another midfield body – and Luis Esteves could make a decent addition.
Esteves, 28, only arrived at Gil Vicente last summer. But perhaps he could move after just one season, just like his manager has.

The Portuguese scored four goals and made eight assists in 33 league appearances last term, and that kind of output would be nice for Wanderers.
He can play as a box-to-box midfielder or as a number 10, so there is also some versatility there.
Back in November, Peixoto branded Esteves ‘important’ (via Record), so perhaps he’d be a player he’d want to reunite with.
Murilo – Winger
Wolves currently lack natural wide players, so perhaps Murilo might be someone Peixoto tries to bring in.
At 31, his age isn’t completely ideal.
However, he just finished as Gil Vicente’s top scorer with 11 goals, and also laid on four assists. That kind of output is respectable.

The Brazilian tends to play from the right side, so he could perhaps provide cover and competition for Rodrigo Gomes on that flank. He is actually left-footed as well, so he would provide a slightly different dynamic.
The last Brazilian winger Wolves signed didn’t work out so well. But Murilo has shown he can be productive in and around the final third.
Santi Garcia – Attacking midfielder
Like Esteves, Santi Garcia produces good attacking output from midfield.
In the season just gone, he scored six and made three assists and actually has a physical profile that would stand him in good stead in the Championship.

With a 6ft 2in frame, he could be difficult to knock off the ball.
This could perhaps be one to look at if Fer Lopez was going to head out on loan again for the 2026/27 season, as it would perhaps not make sense to carry both players given their similarity in position and physical build.
