Nathan Shi reacted to Wolves’ relegation last night, as the club now look ahead to playing in the Championship from next season.
West Ham’s draw with Crystal Palace made it mathematically impossible for Wolves to survive now, and it is the outcome that has long been on the cards.
It’s now official – Wolves are relegated from the Premier League after an eight-season stay… 🚨😔
Wanderers fans, where has it all gone wrong and who is to blame the most?!
Wanderers have been in the relegation zone all season, and have also been rock-bottom for pretty much the whole campaign.
It truly has been a shameful season, and the spotlight will now fall on Fosun once again as people look at where it’s all gone wrong.
One man who’s played a huge part in Wolves’ demise is Jeff Shi, who left his post as executive chairman back in December.
His replacement was Nathan Shi who has so far made the right noises.
Nathan Shi reacts as Wolves are relegated

Last night, as Wolves’ fate was sealed, a statement from Shi was released by the club.
It read (via Wolves official): “Confirmation of our relegation is a difficult moment for everyone connected to Wolves. While this is a deeply disappointing outcome, work has been underway since my arrival in December to ensure we are ready to respond with clarity and conviction.
“We are clear on what needs to improve, and our focus is now on strengthening the club, building momentum and creating a team our supporters can believe in. We know what is required and will approach the months ahead with purpose.
“We know this season has tested your loyalty and patience. Your backing, home and away, has not been taken for granted. You deserve better and giving you a club you can genuinely be proud of is what drives everything we do from this point forward.”
Shi set to come Wolves’ permanent executive chairman
Shi has already met with supporter groups and has fronted up in the face of fan frustration.
Accountability is going to be really important in mending the relationship with the supporters, as is communication.
And so far, Shi has done a good job on both of these fronts.
And The Athletic talk up Shi’s chances of becoming Wolves’ permanent chairman, having only been in the role on an interim basis so far.
The publication say that Shi has impressed behind the scenes and has been ‘a more collaborative presence’.
Sources at Compton Park have indicated that he has made a good impression on staff.

It’s suggested that there is now a ‘general belief’ that he gets the job on a permanent basis as Wolves begin their transition to the Championship.
While may remain unhappy that Fosun are still at the helm at Molineux, the removal of Jeff Shi at Christmas was seen as a positive step and Nathan Shi has made the right noises so far.
But of course, there is a very long road ahead for Wolves to bring back the good times. And the proof will be in the pudding where Nathan Shi is concerned.
