Wolves are officially relegated – and the man who put the final nail in the coffin, Nuno Espirito Santo, gave his reaction last night.

Wanderers can no longer secure survival as a result of West Ham’s draw with Crystal Palace last night.

It is an awful moment for the football club, with many feeling it has been mismanaged by Fosun for several years.

It’s now official – Wolves are relegated from the Premier League after an eight-season stay… 🚨😔

Wanderers fans, where has it all gone wrong and who is to blame the most?!

The club’s risky transfer M.O. saw Wolves play with fire across many windows, and last summer there was simply no room for error.

Wolves failed in that window, leaving a squad that was not fit for purpose.

It is devastating to see how far the club has fallen since Nuno Espirito Santo left in 2021.

And last night, the former Wolves boss was asked for his immediate thoughts on the club’s relegation.

After eight years in the Premier League, it’s back to the Championship for Wolves.

With Wolves’ relegation now confirmed, there will be a big focus on the club and where it all went wrong.

Fosun did well in the early years, getting Wolves out of the Championship and making the club a competitive top-flight outfit.

And the face of Wolves back then was Nuno, who remains adored at Molineux.

How confident are you in Nuno’s prediction about Wolves after the club’s relegation was confirmed?

And was his exit the turning point at Molineux? 🤔

Sadly, it was he who put the final nail in Wolves’ coffin last night, but he gave a classy response after his West Ham side drew with Palace.

He said in his post-match press conference (via Sky Sports): “Of course, of course, of course (it’s something that upsets me). I feel for them.

“I wish them all the best. They are a giant club and for sure they are going to go back to good days.”

Wolves fans will certainly hope that prediction rings true. However, with Fosun still at the helm, many have their reservations.

While Jeff Shi may no longer be in the picture, Fosun very much still are, and it’s mostly their fault that this has happened.

There have been no indications that they will sell up in light of relegation and so, them sticking around will make it hard for many to have full confidence of an immediate Premier League return.

That said, Nathan Shi has actually made a decent start at Molineux and the hope is that he will be a far better decision-maker than his predecessor.
