It’s official – Wolves have officially been relegated from the Premier League and will play Championship football next season.

It is something that’s been on the cards for a while, with the Old Gold having struggled badly this season.

But Wanderers recently gave fans hope, going three unbeaten in the top-flight and recording wins over Aston Villa and Liverpool.

It’s now official – Wolves are relegated from the Premier League after an eight-season stay… 🚨😔

Wanderers fans, where has it all gone wrong and who is to blame the most?!

But Wolves then lost momentum due to the international break, and lost in abysmal fashion 4-0 to West Ham United.

That meant relegation could be possible at the weekend.

It could have happened on Saturday, but it’s now official two days later.

Wolves relegated as West Ham draw with Crystal Palace

Wolves lost their latest match 3-0 against Leeds United at Elland Road, meaning Saturday evening’s game between Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton took on huge significance.

If Spurs won, that would mean Wolves would be relegated.

Spurs looked all set to win having been 2-1 up in injury-time. But a last-gasp equaliser from Georginio Rutter ensured Wolves hung on by a thread.

Tonight though, West Ham United have drawn 0-0 with Crystal Palace – and that means survival is now mathematically impossible and Wolves are officially relegated.

There is huge disappointment with this outcome for so many associated with Wolves. That Nuno Espirito Santo was the one to put the final nail in the coffin is particularly hard to stomach.

But there are actually also plenty of feelings of apathy for fans as Wolves’ fate is sealed.

Barring one or two brief moments of joy, this season really has been a shambles and many have been past the point of caring for a number of weeks now.

The inquest will now begin for Wolves, although most fans know where it all went wrong this term.

Before a ball was even kicked, Wolves came into the campaign woefully underprepared, and the recruitment simply wasn’t good enough.
