Bruno Lage hailed Wolves prospect Luke Cundle ahead of the clash with Aston Villa.
Lage used his pre-match press conference to lavish praise on teenage midfielder Cundle.
He hinted that Cundle is the best talent coming through the academy right now, although there was a brief word of praise for Chem Campbell too.

As per the Express and Star, Lage said: “Luke and Chem stayed with us and I’m very happy. They have the chance to train with us. I have an opportunity to know these kids better and I was surprised with these two,”
“It’s a good surprise to see a kid like Luke and the way he understands and plays the game. Maybe in the future we have a good value on our hands.
“The most important thing now is that he has the chance to train with the first team. When you see a kid like Luke try to play, when you build up with the centre-backs he is there to try and start the game.
“He is very good in the right positions to play between the lines. He has good technique.”

Cundle has been on the bench for Premier League matches this season and got a brief cameo against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup in August.
That means he looks the closest to the first team as it stands, although he has plenty to do to establish himself.
Wolves’ relative shortage of central midfielders might help him too, especially if there is an injury or Lage does not get a new face in his engine room during the winter window.
It is exciting that Wolves seem to have a real diamond coming through if he can continue his progress.
