Boubacar Traore has been pictured doing outdoor training, as the Wolves star continues his recovery from a groin injury.
Traore is yet to feature in a competitive match under Julen Lopetegui.
The 21-year-old sustained his injury out in Marbella.
Lopetegui had actually said that he hoped Traore would have been fit for his first Premier League game in charge against Everton on Boxing Day.
But he suffered a setback, and has actually since undergone surgery.
Traore was recently spotted in the gym at Compton Park doing rehab work.
He has now taken the next step, and moved outdoors to do some light training.
From the latest batch of photos Wolves have uploaded, it looks as though Traore was doing individual work, as he doesn’t appear in any of the stills of group exercises and drills.
He looks to have been dribbling a ball through some poles.
Traore will be raring to go having had a couple of months on the sidelines now.
Just before the season suspended for the World Cup, he was in a really good moment, having scored the winner against Leeds United in the Carabao Cup.
He’ll be itching to get back out there and make an impression.
Especially because since his last appearance, a few new faces have come through the door.
Wolves signed Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes in January, two players who will be competition for the Malian dynamo.
Boubacar Traore return will be welcome for Wolves, as star spotted outdoors at Compton
It’s good to see Traore back out on the grass at Compton Park.
Perhaps he’ll be back available for selection again in a couple of weeks, which would be most ideal.
Traore was fantastic for Wolves just before the World Cup and was just starting to really find his feet.
He’s had a bit of time out now and hopefully it won’t take him too long to regain his sharpness and get back to where he was.
He may have to be patient though.
Unfortunately for him, Lemina looks a fantastic signing for Wolves. And we haven’t even seen Gomes in action yet. Then there’s the likes of Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes who are both must-picks. Joao Moutinho and Joe Hodge are further options for Lopetegui, so Traore may find minutes hard to come by, at least initially.
