Wolves want to finish their season with three points and leapfrog Burnley, but final day Premier League outings haven’t brought much success

Rob Edwards will take Wolves for the final time in 2025/26 as the Old Gold head to Turf Moor.

Should Rob Edwards keep with a back four for Wolves’ final game vs Burnley? 🤔

Let us know down below if you'd make any changes to this XI…

Wolves haven’t won an away game in the league all season, and failure to get three points today will see them become only the seventh team ever to go a full Premier League campaign without winning away.

Wolves did receive a nice boost in the lead up to this game as Andre signed a new contract with the club.

That came out of the blue, as many felt he’d been one of the first players to leave.

Hopefully that will provide a lift for his teammates today – because they will certainly need one.

Unfortunately, Wolves tend to really struggle when it comes to final day Premier League fixtures.

Today, the players have one last chance to give the fans something to cheer about.

Wolves can leapfrog Burnley with a win today, and moving up a place in the table will mean almost a few million pounds more in prize money, which could be important this summer.

But Wolves do tend to finish Premier League seasons really poorly.

And the club’s record specifically for the final day is not good at all.

The club have played 11 seasons in the Premier League since its inception, and have only won one of their previous 11 matches.

Their record is one win, one draw and nine defeats.

The win came all the way back in 2009/10 when they beat Sunderland 2-1 at Molineux, with Kevin Doyle and Adlène Guédioura the goalscorers for the Old Gold.

Wolves fans, do you have any confidence that we can beat Burnley and finish 19th?! 🤔

We are just two points behind the Clarets going into the final day… 🙏

Wolves have obviously had a terrible season and a lot of fans likely won’t expect too much today.

But there is the notion of the players finally giving the travelling fans something to be positive about, because they are absolutely owed a performance.

Burnley – who are actually winless in their last 14 games Premier League games – can be leapfrogged with a win and the players simply have to go for it.
