Wolves are reportedly interested in signing exciting Racing Club youngster Carlos Alcaraz.
According to Marca, Wanderers are one of several clubs in the hunt for the midfield starlet.
Atletico, Sevilla, Juventus, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan and AC Milan are all said to be on his tail.
These clubs are said to have sent scouts to watch him in Argentina.
Supposedly, the youngster has a release clause of £20 million, but it’s stated that Racing could a slightly lower fee of £16 million.
At the tender age of 18, Alcaraz is a player who would fit Wolves’ transfer policy.
He is a player with big potential, and has been really impressing in South America this season.
So far, he has made 18 appearances, scoring five goals and making two assists.
The claim comes amid continued doubts about the futures of Portuguese pair Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho.
Neves will certainly have clubs coming in for him this summer, and Wolves may find it hard to turn down a big offer.
And Moutinho is out of contract at the end of the season. Although the club do want to keep him and he apparently wants to stay.
Wolves need to add experienced midfielder this summer, amid transfer links to Carlos Alcaraz
Alcaraz is a player with a bright future ahead of him.
Wolves would definitely be making an exciting addition with him.
But the club surely cannot be thinking about signing him as a potential replacement for Neves.
It would be a huge blow to lose such an influential player.
To then go ahead and replace him with someone who is much more inexperienced would not be a wise or popular move.
