Wolves reportedly face missing out on Alex Scott this summer as a result of their financial issues.
Wanderers spent almost £200 million last season and are now in a position where they need to balance the books.
Ruben Neves has been sold to Al Hilal for £47 million which is a good start to the window.
But Wolves are thought to need a couple more player sales at least. And it has been suggested the club will only be signing new players in the £8-£15 million range.
One player the club has had interest in for a long time now is Scott of Bristol City.
The youngster is perhaps the hottest English prospect outside the Premier League and has a host of clubs looking at him.
Wolves made contact in January about a possible move, but were ultimately put off by the asking price.
And now, it looks like there is more disappointment pending regarding Scott.
Alex Scott is out of Wolves’ budget
According to The Telegraph’s John Percy, Scott is simply going to be too expensive for Wolves this summer.

He says ‘at this stage’ the teenager is out of Wanderers’ price range.
His fee will apparently be north of £25 million, which really does put Wolves massively up against it.
If we are to believe everything that’s been written about Wolves’ financial situation, this price tag is at least £10 million too high.
Realistically, Wolves are going to have to bring in bigger sums than expected for each of the likes of Raul Jimenez, Jonny Castro Otto, Jose Sa and Daniel Podence to stand a chance of winning the race for Scott.
He might even join another club before Wolves get to that point.
Alex Scott would be such a good coup for Wolves but a transfer feels very unlikely right now
Scott is a seriously exciting talent.
He wowed Pep Guardiola earlier this year with his performance against Manchester City in the FA Cup, which says it all.
Liam Keen suggested earlier this year that Scott would be open to joining Wolves, which makes this situation all the more frustrating. He stated that Julen Lopetegui ‘absolutely loves’ Scott as a player.

Wolves officials will probably have to go into overdrive if they are to make this exciting transfer happen.
Because at the moment, it looks like another club will win the race for Scott.
