Luizao, 20, is out of contract at the end of January.

Sao Paulo’s manager Rogerio Ceni stated recently that he was likely to leave the club.

and it looks as though he will be heading to the Premier League, with the Hammers having agreed a three-year contract. He won’t cost them anything as it is a pre-contract agreement.

Wolves were one of a host of clubs to have actually put forth an offer to Luizao.

Benfica, Sporting, Porto, Fulham, Juventus and the Red Bull group all attempted to land him as well.

Apparently West Ham actually offered to pay Sao Paulo a fee to take Luizao before his contract officially ends. But the Brazilian club declined and will keep hold of the youngster until the end of January.

Wanderers are known to be in the market for a centre-back, having just four options at the moment.

The club attempted to sign Craig Dawson from West Ham United in the summer. The club also showed an interest in Jason Denayer.

In recent days, there have been links to the Osasuna defender David Garcia.

It has also been claimed that Wolves are in talks with Atletico to sign their veteran defender Felipe.

Luizao will be an interesting watch at West Ham United, as report suggests Wolves made offer

This is an interest claim about a talented young player from Brazil.

But it is difficult to see how Wolves would need to make such a signing.

At the moment, there is a lack of an experienced centre-back at Molineux following the summer departures of Conor Coady, Romain Saiss and Willy Boly.

Luizao has a bright future ahead of him. And it will be really interesting to see how he gets on at West Ham if he does indeed sign.

But he’s probably not what Wolves need right now. A David Garcia, or a Felipe from Atleti would be better bets.
