Wolves are reportedly preparing to make an offer for Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder Andre Almeida.
According to journalist Ekrem Konur, the club are set to present a bid to the Portuguese outfit for the talented youngster.
Some Wanderers fans have been reeling this morning, with reports surfacing that Chelsea are now in for Matheus Nunes.
The Blues are supposedly set to bid for the 23-year-old, who is thought to be Wolves’ top target this summer.
Frustratingly, it has been suggested that Chelsea being a Champions League club could prove significant.
Wolves have already declined to sign Joao Palhinha, who has joined Fulham.
It has been a very frustrating summer for Wanderers supporters so far.
The club are in dire need of signing a new midfielder or two, with the same three options – Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker – having been in place for years at Molineux.
The engine room needs adding to, and Bruno Lage could do with reinforcements immediately with pre-season now underway.
Wolves are supposedly now set to move for Almeida.
There were claims in May that Wolves were keen to sign the player.
But there is also apparently interest from FC Porto.
Almeida could be the man for Wolves, as club reportedly ready first offer
Wolves really need to add to their pool of midfield options, and it would be no surprise of Almeida was the man they went for.
He’s already been linked to the club by the fairly reliable Jornal de Noticias.
And he is a young player with potential for high resale value. And, of course, he is Portuguese.
He could make for an exciting addition. Almeida is a tidy midfield player, who actually posted a high pass completion rate than Ruben Neves in 2021/22 (86% to Neves’ 84%, via WhoScored).
