Wolves are reportedly ready to sanction another loan move to Benfica for Goncalo Guedes.
The winger spent the second half of the 2022/23 season with his former club.
Wanderers decided to move him on temporarily, after learning he didn’t want to be at Molineux.
Guedes turned in a number of poor performances for Wolves.
He was very disappointing considering he cost £27.5 million to sign from Valencia.
After getting a handful of chances under Julen Lopetegui, Guedes departed at the end of January to join his former club Benfica.
And the move was very unproductive, with Guedes making just 15 appearances due to injury.
Goncalo Guedes now set for another loan spell with Benfica
According to O Jogo (via Sport Witness), Guedes is set for a second loan spell with Benfica.

Wolves acknowledge that his spell didn’t go well, and understand they would get nowhere near what they paid for Guedes this summer.
So the club are seemingly banking on Guedes recovering from his injury and then having a really good season with Benfica in 2023/24.
The suggestion is that Wolves want rid of Guedes, with Lopetegui not wanting him.
So they will seek to offload him in the summer of 2024.
Goncalo Guedes loan move is far from ideal for Wolves – he is shaping up to be one of the worst Wolves transfers in years
Wolves are taking a big risk here.
They are banking on the player having a great season on loan with Benfica. Who knows how likely that is to happen, given his poor form in the last year and his injury problems.
If this happens, Guedes would then come back to Wolves with three years left on his contract.

He’s going to have to play out of his skin for Wolves to make back their original investment.
One wonders if, given the fact Wolves need money now, it is just worth trying to sell Guedes this summer and taking the hit.
