Sporting CP are reportedly keen to sign Pedro Neto on loan from Wolves.
The winger’s career has really stalled in the last couple of years because of injury.
Neto, 23, was at one point one of the brightest young talents in the Premier League, who defenders feared.
But he suffered a broken patella a couple of years ago which really slowed his progress and caused him to miss Euro 2020.
He then got himself back fit, but suffered a bad ankle injury in Bruno Lage’s final game in charge of Wolves against West Ham United last October.
Julen Lopetegui has given Neto a handful of opportunities in 2023.
But there have not yet been any signs of Neto returning to his pre-injury levels.
Sporting CP want to take Wolves star Pedro Neto on loan
According to one of Portugal’s biggest news outlets A Bola, Sporting are considering a loan move for Neto this summer.
It is suggested the operation may take shape in the coming days.

Sporting are looking to make a number of singings this summer, including a new right-back and a defensive midfielder.
But the idea of bringing in a Portuguese international for the wing is ‘very well regarded’.
Should Neto make this particular move, he would link back up with Francisco Trincao, who played for Wolves on loan in 2021/22.
Neto and Trincao are childhood friends having both grown up in Vianense.
The pair were also in the youth ranks at Braga together.
A loan move for Pedro Neto may be considered by Wolves
This is a somewhat surprising claim from A Bola, but perhaps something that should not be ruled out.
It is sad the way Neto’s career has panned out, when he was looking so devastating for Wolves before that first knee injury. Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp was always a big fan of his, and even earlier this year branded him a ‘world-class player’.
Since returning to action, Neto just hasn’t been able to recapture that form of two years ago.

And so a loan move to a club back in his homeland might just be considered.
Although it does depend on what Julen Lopetegui thinks and how Neto looks in pre-season.
He might look very sharp and Lopetegui may want to put his faith in the star.
