Wolves transfer news: Report shares Dendoncker's value as Lazio lurk

Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker is wanted by Serie A giants Lazio – and a report has shared his value ahead of the summer transfer window.

But the club do hold an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.

The star has been an important squad player this season for Bruno Lage.

Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho have been the main men in midfield. But Dendoncker has still made 31 appearances across all competitions.

He has seen a lot more game time in 2022, with Neves and Moutinho both picking up injuries at certain points.

He’s had some good games, but has again struggled to be truly consistent.

Supposedly Napoli are keen to sign the 27-year-old, and Il Tempo (via Calciomercato) have reported that Dendoncker’s current value is around £13 million.

They say that Dendoncker is very much appreciated by Lazio’s Sporting director Igli Tare, who has been a fan since he was at Anderlecht.

It’s explained that Lazio are looking at three central midfield options right now. Ruben Loftus-Cheek of Chelsea is on their list. As is Benjamin Bourigeaud of Rennes.

Dendoncker is said to be the ‘most affordable’ of the three.

But any swoop by Lazio this summer would be dependent on their ability to sell Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Serbia international is valued at £60-£68 million.

Wolves star Dendoncker surely has a higher value than £13 million, following report’s new claim

Dendoncker’s apparent value being £13 million feels a little low.

He may not have ripped it up this season. But Dendoncker is still a good player who can be great in the right situation.

He’s also obviously quite versatile, which has to increase his appeal.

And, of course, Lage really sang his praises recently, branding him one of the best professionals in the squad.

He’s a player who is now coming into his prime years. And so Wolves would surely hope to receive a bit more than £13 million for him if they decided they wanted to sell.
