Wolves transfer news: Report shares Kondogbia's wage demands

Wolves have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid star Geoffrey Kondogbia – and a report has suggested the player’s wage demands to his next club.

Goal Espana have reported that Wanderers are monitoring the 29-year-old midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window.

Apparently, Atletico would prefer not to lose him

But should a suitable offer arrive then they will cash in on him.

The player’s current contract with the Spanish giants expires in the summer of 2024.

Kondogbia is also on the radar of Aston Villa, and they are the focus of an article from Mundo Deportivo, which has revealed what kind of wages Kondogbia would be seeking from his next club.

According to the publication, the star would hope to take home just over €120,000-a-week (£101,000-a-week).

That is actually slightly less than he currently earns with Atleti (£115,000-a-week, according to TEAMtalk).

But there is also a slightly concerning line from Mundo Deportivo.

They add that any transfer would be ‘very expensive’, although there is no mention of any asking price.

Wolves paying such an amount to Kondogbia would make him just about the highest-paid player at the club. Joao Moutinho currently takes home around £100,000-a-week according to Spotrac.

Kondogbia wage demands and transfer fee may not be an issue thanks to Ruben Neves

£101,000-a-week is a lot to pay for a club like Wolves.

But it is possible the club would be able to stretch to that with a few players potentially leaving Molineux this summer.

One of those players is Ruben Neves. As much as Wolves fans do not want to see it, interest in him will be very high.

There is every chance he could go, and hopefully if he does then Wolves will bring in a huge fee.

Kondogbia may well be ‘very expensive’. But if he is who Wolves want, then potential Neves money could help them bring him in.
