Raphael Guerreiro will reportedly now be offered a new deal by Borussia Dortmund, after recently being linked with Wolves.
The full-back currently stands to leave the Bundesliga club at the end of the season as a free agent.
90min reported that the 29-year-old is wanted by several clubs at the moment.
Newcastle United and Aston Villa are thought to be keen. Leeds United have also been linked for a while.
Guerreiro has really impressed with the Bundesliga side since joining them back in 2016 from FC Lorient.
He has scored 38 goals and made 45 assists in 215 games.
It is unsurprising that he has interest from the Premier League. It is also stated that several clubs from Italy and Spain are keen, as well as Dortmund’s rivals in Germany.
But it looks as though all these clubs, including Wolves, could be set for disappointment over the Portugal international.
That’s because Ruhr Nachrichten have reported that Guerreiro will now be offered a new deal by Dortmund.
The extension offer will apparently be for two more years.
Potential blow for Wolves with Borussia Dortmund set to offer Raphael Guerreiro new deal
So it looks as though Dortmund are keen not to lose Guerreiro this summer.
That is understandable – the star brings huge experience and he can play in several different positions.
While he is not the strongest defensively, Guerreiro is very productive from left-back.
His goals and assist numbers are very impressive given the positive he mainly plays.
It remains to be seen if he will sign this new contract with Dortmund, or he will fancy a new challenge.
If he happens to reject the new terms, then Wolves have surely got to make their move.
