Wolves are reportedly showing interest in Borussia Dortmund star Raphael Guerreiro.
90min have reported today that Premier League interest is growing in the 29-year-old.
He is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning there is bargain to be had for someone.
Guerreiro has been with Dortmund since 2016 when he joined from French club FC Lorient.
He’s clocked up 214 appearances in black and yellow, and has scored a very impressive 38 goals and made 45 assists.
Considering he plays most of the time at full-back, those are some great numbers.
Guerreiro is potentially now set to move on and embark on a new challenge. But it seems there is already a fair amount of interest in him.
As well as Wolves, 90min say Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Leeds United are all keen.
At the moment, Wolves have two very good young left-back options on their hands.
Hugo Bueno has been a revelation this season at Molineux since breaking through back in October. And Rayan Ait-Nouri has also shown himself to be a fantastic prospect.
Julen Lopetegui may feel as though he needs an option with more experience though.
Bueno and Ait-Nouri have similar profiles. There is Jonny Castro Otto, but the Spaniard’s form this season has been concerning.
It would be no surprise if he was a player Wolves wanted to listen to offers for this summer.
Raphael Guerreiro would be a brilliant free signing for Wolves
This is a transfer link that should please Wolves fans.
Left-back may not be a position that is desperately in need of strengthening for Wolves. But Guerreiro feels like an opportunity.
He’s vastly experienced and both club and international level (61 caps for Portugal).
And he can also play in many positions, including left wing and even in midfield. His ability to play as a winger might make him a perfect addition, with Wolves sometimes using wing-backs.
Guerreiro’s quality is in no doubt. England midfielder Jude Bellingham was seriously impressed by him shortly after he joined the club. He said (via Bundesliga official): “The one player not many people recognise or talk about too much is Raphael Guerreiro.
“Honestly, he only plays with his left foot but some of the things he can do – his passing, his dribbling – he makes look easy. He runs rings around everyone. To him, it’s a laugh.”
Given he’s another Portuguese player, Wolves are surely in with a reasonable chance of landing him this summer.
