Wolves transfer news: PSG considering Leander Dendoncker move

French giants PSG are reportedly considering a late move for Wolves star Leander Dendoncker.

According to Media Foot Marseille, they are thinking about a swoop for the Belgium international as he can play in both midfield and defence.

PSG have been linked with moves for Bernando Silva, Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij.

But they’ve not made much progress on those deals, and Luis Campos is determined to strengthen PSG’s squad before the window closes.

PSG are said to be working away behind the scenes, with Dendoncker a genuine possibility.

New manager Christophe Galtier wants someone who can play in midfield and also a three-man defence.

Dendoncker, of course, has played in a 3-4-3 at Wolves many times.

Media Foot Marseille report that Jorge Mendes would oversee any deal. He is not actually Dendoncker’s agent, but has close links with Wolves.

It is suggested that Dendoncker could be signed for a lower price since he only has a year left on his contract at Molineux.

But Wolves do actually have the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.

So far this season, Dendoncker has featured in all four of Wolves’ games.

He started the first two Premier League games, and the Carabao Cup match against Preston North End on Tuesday night.

Wolves should consider Leander Dendoncker sale but only if he can be replaced, as PSG register interest

Dendoncker’s first two appearances were good this season. He filled in well for the injured Joao Moutinho.

Really, Wolves should be looking to keep the 27-year-old at this stage of the window.

But Dendoncker has often struggled to truly convince at Molineux, so if PSG offer a decent amount and Wolves can bring in a replacement then his sale is also worth considering.

But realistically, it would be a real surprise if he left.

Bruno Lage is a big fan of Dendoncker and has often sang his praises publicly. He called him one of the best professionals at the club earlier this year.

It’s hard to see the manager giving his exit the green light.
