Wolves transfer news: Nathan Collins set for Wolves medical today

Nathan Collins is scheduled to have his Wolves medical today.

News broke yesterday evening that Wanderers were close to agreeing a deal with Burnley, worth around £20.5 million.

And it looks as though official confirmation of the move could now come quite soon from the club.

Telegraph journalist John Percy, who initially broke the story, is reporting this morning that the 21-year-old is set to have his medical at some point today.

Wolves fans have had to be very patient so far this summer.

Up until now, it has just been a string of players leaving Molineux.

Fans have been expressing their dismay at the lack of incomings activity, following the club’s terrible finish to the 2021/22 season.

But it looks as though signing number one could be imminent.

Collins has only been with Burnley for a year, but the Clarets are happy to let him go, for a fee that is almost double what they paid Stoke City.

Collins hasn’t got a great deal of Premier League experience. But he showed last season that he is a big talent with lots of potential.

Many Wolves fans have been crying out for the club to spend big on a central defender.

Hopefully, the Republic of Ireland international can have a big impact at Molineux. It is certainly an addition that has long been needed.
