Wolves transfer news: Wanderers in advanced talks with Burnley to sign Nathan Collins

Wolves are reportedly now in advanced talks with Burnley to sign Nathan Collins.

According to The Telegraph’s John Percy, Wanderers could be set to sign the Republic of Ireland international for around £20.5 million.

Negotiations are said to be progressing well, with the deal ‘close’.

Wolves fans have been expressing their frustrations on social media over the past few weeks at the lack of activity in the transfer market.

It has been link after link after link, with several players already leaving Molineux in the process.

But it seems the club might actually be closing in on their first signing of the summer.

Collins only joined Burnley a year ago from Stoke City.

Despite the Clarets’ struggles in the Premier League last season, the 21-year-old put in a string of impressive showings at the back alongside James Tarkowski while Ben Mee was out injured.

Wolves need to get a deal for Nathan Collins over the line as soon as possible

This is very encouraging news, and from a good source too.

Wolves fans have been itching for some activity over the past few weeks, and it looks as though there could finally be some on the horizon.

Wolves need to get this deal wrapped up as soon as possible.

Pre-season is underway, and new additions need that time to bed in with the start of the Premier League now less than a month away.

With Collins being right-footed, it could be that Bruno Lage uses Maximilian Kilman or Toti Gomes on the left of a back three if that was the system of choice.
