Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves was reportedly discussed by Jorge Mendes and Joan Laporta over dinner.
The pair supposedly dined in a well known restaurant in Barcelona.
Barca are apparently still seeking to land the Wanderers maestro.
This claim from SPORT comes after there were suggestions that Barca were prepared to wait a year to sign the star.
The report states that Barcelona’s transfer window is one of the most complex in history, and that time is pressing.
The club’s financial issues have been well documented.
It will certainly be difficult for the Catalan giants to land Neves this summer, since they are after a number of other top players.
It has been reported that Wolves are seeking around £70 million if they are to sell.
So far, that asking price has proven too high for potential suitors, and there have been no bids for the former FC Porto man.
It remains to be seen if Barca – with the help of Mendes – can come up with a creative way to sign the 25-year-old.
Wolves looking set to keep Ruben Neves, as Mendes meets Laporta to discuss star
It looks as though Wolves could be on course to keep Neves.
Mendes and Laporta may have met to discuss the star, but it’s going to be very difficult for them to sign him given the asking price.
Barca are also looking at the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Bernando Silva.
They aren’t going to be able to sign everyone.
Given Barca yesterday announced the arrival of Franck Kessie, it might well be that plans to sign Neves are indeed abandoned for this summer.
