Many clubs are said to have enquired about the availability of Danny Ward, following recently reported interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The goalkeeper had three fantastic group stage outings at Euro 2020 with Wales.
He made a string of fine saves, helping his side reach the last 16 where they ultimately came undone against Denmark.
Ward is yet to make his debut for Leicester City after signing for the Foxes in 2018.
That is due to the quality and consistency of Kasper Schmeichel.
Although Leicester believe Ward is happy, TEAMtalk say the club have been ‘inundated’ with enquiries about him and may consider selling for an offer of £15 million.
Wolves were recently reported to be on the tail of Ward (Daily Mail).
The club are set for a change between the sticks going into the 2021/22 season, with Rui Patricio reportedly nearing a move to AS Roma.
Fabrizio Romano claimed earlier this week that a deal is fairly close to completion now.
Ward is supposedly on Wolves’ radar, but there have been strong links to Jose Sa of Olympiacos.
Sa would be the better option for Wolves
Ward being priced at £15 million means Sa would probably be the better option.
Leicester are within their rights to set such a price.
But Sa has been playing regular football, and has also been a part of title-winning teams.
Given Sa has two years remaining on his contract and is a Gestifute/Jorge Mendes client, he’d surely be cheaper than the £15 million Leicester want for Ward.
